As a Level A and Level B Occupational tester recognised by the British Psychological Society, Richard can provide careers workshops to local schools to help students with career choices. Using psychometric tests Richard can help students find out where their strengths lie and give them suggestions for taking the next step. I offer a number of packages, which can be adjusted to suit your needs.

1 hour session:
This particular test examines a students preference for working in different sectors, for instance, do they prefer working with others, or are they more suited to work with resources and tools such as in the trades. Student will benefit from a short tutorial on how the session may benefit them in the future. the psychometric test will be explained and each student then fills it out. The students are able to mark there own test under guidence from Richard, who will then explain the results to the students. each preference is explained and accompanied by actual examples from available jobs in the area. By the end of the session, each student will have identified their own preferences through the test and understand more about the preferences they have for certain careers and the possible jobs that they may enjoy in the future. This kind of workshop is aimed at students who are about to mak etheir GCSE or AS/A level choices, or for those in sixth form you are still unsure of their next step.

Careers testing followed by workshops.
This package has been designed to last for around 2.5 hours and allows for the students to build further upon the career preferences as mentioned above. After the careers testing session, the students will split into groups depending upon their career preference. There will then be a series of activities that all students will complete. Each activity is suited to a particular career preference and one would expect that each group will prefer the activity suited to their preference. The idea is to build upon the preferences by providing a challenge- like structure where each group competes against another for points. The session is highly interactive and even provides opportunity for teachers to become involved in the process. This session is suited to younger students, particularly year 9 students.

These packages can be offered to entire year groups or even just for particular students who may be struggling to make career choices.
